First Nations Electricity Program
On behalf of New Relationship Trust and BC Hydro, Mahihkan Management will be hosting 3 information sessions on the First Nations Electricity Program 2026 (the program) opening this fall.
Participants will be provided with an overview of the program design and have an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions on program parameters.
These sessions contain time sensitive information. Sessions will not be recorded and available after the fact. Representatives are encouraged to register as further opportunities won’t be available prior to the program commencing this Fall.
More About the First Nations Electricity Program
The First Nations Electricity Program 2026 is a new stream of the BC Indigenous Clean Energy Initiative, to be administered separately. The program was developed to support First Nations economic development through the advancement of small-scale, First Nation-led, on-grid clean energy projects.
The program will support small-scale clean energy projects that are connected to the grid. Successful applicants will enter into a funding agreement with the New Relationship Trust and an Electricity Purchase Agreement with BC Hydro.

Participants will be provided with an overview of the program design and have an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions on program parameters.
These sessions build on the objectives and outcomes of the engagements that took place with BC First Nations in May and June of 2024. Information about the outcomes of the 2024 engagements can be found in the discussion paper and engagement summary report.
New Relationship Trust and BC Hydro are working with Mahihkan Management to facilitate three virtual information sessions at the following dates and times.
