2026–27 Funding Overview
New Relationship Trust (NRT) publishes an annual overview of our funding programs to help First Nations communities, individual applicants, and grant seekers see exactly what’s available and how much funding each program provides. Whether you’re looking for Indigenous grants in B.C., checking on NRT funding for the year ahead, or confirming details on a specific program, our program brochure puts everything in one place.
The 2026–27 Program Brochure covers funding across NRT’s core priority areas:
- Nation Building – up to $60,000 per year to support community-led nation building priorities
- BC Indigenous Clean Energy – capacity-building support for First Nations clean energy projects, from planning through construction
- Community Energy Diesel Reduction – funding for eligible First Nations and remote communities working to reduce reliance on diesel for electricity generation
- First Nations Electricity Program – support for small-scale, First Nation-led, on-grid clean energy projects
- Economic Development Equity Matching – up to $5,000 for individual entrepreneurs and up to $25,000 for community businesses
- BC Indigenous Cannabis Business Fund – up to $250,000 in capital contribution for First Nation communities and Indigenous businesses in the regulated cannabis industry
- Education (Post-Secondary) – bursaries and scholarships for First Nation students, with award amounts based on program level
- Education (K–12) – up to $8,000 per year for Indigenous student classrooms
- Youth – up to $8,000 per year for youth groups in First Nations communities
- Elders – up to $8,000 per year for Elder groups in First Nations communities
- Language – up to $8,000 per year to revitalize First Nation languages and support new fluent speakers
