BC Co-Operative Association
Empowering BC First Nations through Indigenous Co-operatives
Building a Stronger Future Together
New Relationship Trust (NRT) is dedicated to fostering economic and social development within BC First Nations communities. In partnership with the British Columbia Co-operative Association (BCCA), NRT is driving change through the Indigenous Co-operative Initiativeβan innovative program that empowers communities to explore co-operative business models tailored to their unique cultural, social, and economic needs.
The Power of Co-operatives in Indigenous Communities
Co-operatives provide a values-based, community-owned alternative to traditional corporate structures, aligning with Indigenous perspectives on community, sustainability, and shared prosperity. Through this initiative, NRT and BCCA aim to demystify the co-operative model, highlighting its potential to address challenges while respecting Indigenous worldviews.
